Shelagh Farrell BDS MSc MGDSRCS FDSRCS FFGDP (UK)
I qualified in Bristol in 1971, passed my MGDSRCS (Eng) in 1980 and completed my MSc at the Eastman Dental Institute in 1991. I was principal in my own practice in Bristol from 1973 – 1995 and part-time clinical lecturer at the Maurice Wohl Centre, KCSMD. I joined Ringley Park Dental Practice as a partner in 1995.
My interests in prosthodontics started whilst working in the 1970s with my husband, John Farrell, who was consultant in prosthetics at the Bristol Dental Hospital and lectured widely in the subject. I worked with John in both the hospital and in private practice, continuing his private practice after his death in 1981.
I have been an elected member of the General Dental Council for many years and Vice-Dean of The Faculty of General Dental Practitioners at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
I am married to Christopher May and have a teenage son. My interests include choral singing, opera, cooking and I'm a member of the Commanderie de Bordeaux in Bristol. I am also a council member of St John Ambulance in Surrey.
