Dr. Yusof (Joe) Omar MBBCh, DA, MRCA

Yusof (Joe) Omar was born and brought up in South Africa. His family came to Britain to avoid the apartheid system when he was just 11 years old. He qualified from Cairo University Medical School in 1976. Upon his return to London in 1977 he held training posts at Westminster and the Royal Marsden Hospitals in London and Sutton.

Since 1984 he has practiced as a dental anaesthetist and sedationist. He has lectured extensively, at home and abroad, on the subject of Medical Emergencies in Dentistry; and also runs courses on sedation for doctors and dentists.

He is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the Eastman Dental Institute (part of University College London). Joe is married to Lynne and they have four daughters. In his spare time he is a keen squash player and dabbles in photography.
